Every Inchie Monday -- Towel

A nice easy one this week, and not one I could get anything different in my brain, so it's plain ol' towels for me.
I made a towel rail out of beads and head pins for the sewn one. and a pearl pen for the stampbord one.

The Craft Barn Dictionary Challenge -- L for Lacy

The Craft Barn Dictionary challenge this fortnight is L. I have chosen L for Lacy. The definition is "Lacelike in fineness or intricacy" I didn't use the word lace as some of it is made from lacy paper rather than real lace.
I used two of Tim's lacy dies for the bottom and main tag ( fragment die) I distress inked both tags and stuck them together.
I use an ornate oval die to frame the image of a lady in lacy attire. I then added lace at the top and some lace flowers to finish off.

Tag Tuesday -- Layer upon layer

The theme this week, layer upon layer gave me the opportunity to make another fabric tag for my vintage fabric tag book. I started off with a layer of calico, then a layer of printed script fabric and lace. I then added an image of a little girl, a layer of scrim. I finished off with another layer of lace and flowers.

Every Inchie Monday -- Earth

This was not easy this week. The earth on an inch, I think I might have dispensed with some of the countries in my two attempts, especially the sewn one.

Countryview crafts challenge -- Make your own background.

On Countryview crafts, their challenge is to make your own background. I have made another two pages for my large Dylusions journal. The background is made with spraying Dylusion inks and then again through stencils. I made two tags to go on top and then doodled over the background with a white pen.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

Tag Tuesday -- Shakespeare

For this tag I distress inked the tag and stamped some old script with brown ink. I added an image of Shakespeare, a quote, and an ink nib. I finished off with a rolled up script and a tiny book ( Not the complete works though)

Every Inchie Monday -- Beer

These are my attempts at the beer word this week on Every Inchie Monday. The sewn one is made with a shiny satin type fabric for the beer, and French knots for the foamy top. The stampbord one I drew a barrel of beer in case Arthur got thirsty.

Our Creative Corner -- Sew and sew.

For the challenge on Our Creative Corner the subject is sewing. I have made another page for my sewing book. I started out with some corrugated card and distressed some of the edges. Fresco paint went on next with some bronze embossing powder. I stuck on some sewing related images. I then used the sewing machine to sew on a zip. Next I added a dress form that I coloured and embossed. I dressed the form in some gold fabric. A home made button, tiny scissors, a bobbin, a tape measure, lace and a wooden sewing machine were added to finish it off.

The Craft Barn Dictionary challenge -- F

This time the letter for the dictionary challenge on The Craft Barn is F.
I have used Feathers for mine. The background is crumpled tissue from 7 Gypsies with bird images on. Not that you can see much of it because I painted gesso on most of it and just left a feather in the centre. I then distress inked the tissue. The next step was to use a feather stencil with some texture paste. I stamped the heart and embossed it and finished off with some stamped feathers and some real ones.

Tag Tuesday -- Get Inky

This week we have to get inky so I have made three different tags.
The first one I used spray inks on an embossed tag. The small one on the top left is alcohol inks on acetate. The others are spray ink. The splatter marks at the bottom are made with an ink dabber.

The one below on the left is ink sprayed through stencils. The one on the right is distress inks on a tag with texture paste through a stencil. The paste resists the ink.

Anything but cute -- Grungy Love

For the challenge on Anything but Cute, I have made a cover for the book that fits in the altered heart box ( post below this one) I started off by covering the right side with gold crackle paste. and the rest with gesso to seal the chipboard. I then added the various embellishments and painted them with gesso. When it was all dry I painted it with pink, purple and turquoise metallic paint. The pink roses were added afterwards.

I am also entering this in  new challenge blogs that I came across.

Try it on Tuesday -- A fine romance The Artistic Stamper -- HeArt art

For this challenge on Try it on Tuesday, and The Artistic Stamper, I have made some pages for a book in the heart box that I altered earlier.

The pages are a mixture of Dylusion spray inks, distress inks, with stamped images. Some have die cut hearts and others have stamped images on hearts,

Every inchie Monday -- Slippers

This week I decided to colour Arthur's life up by making him a pair of blue felt slippers and a pair of Minion ones. I made the felt and cut out the soles and sewed on the top piece and added some beads. The Minion slippers are drawn on stampbord and coloured with distress pens.

Rhedd's Creative Spirit Challenge & SanDee & Amelies Steampunk challenge -- Anything goes.

This is my entry for Rhedds Creative spirit challenge for February. I altered an old large book of my Dad's to use as an art journal. In this, I just write down what I have done art wise. For the cover, I used a piece of card from some packaging and some corrugated card for the top piece. I sprayed the main cover with Glimmer Mist & Dylusions ink sprays, and for the top piece I used Gesso and PaperArtsy Fresco paint. The images are a mixture of shrink plastic using PaperArtsy and Tim's stamps, Tim's cogs and die cuts, and various other steampunk bits.

I am entering this in the following challenges.

Tag Tuesday -- Shadows - Reflections

Rather than find a picture of reflections, I decided to attempt painting a quick scene in watercolour. I should have taken more time on it, but watercolours are not my best medium, and it never goes as I would like.

The Craft Barn Alpha/Dictionary Challenge -- Q

This time on The Craft Barn, the letter is Q, so I have chosen Q for Quail. I already had an image on my computer from when I made my fabric A-Z of birds. I made the background with crumpled printed tissue paper. When it was dry I painted it with white gesso. I then used three shades of distress stains and applied them to the tissue paper. I then sprayed with water to blend the colours. The quail was then put on his rock with some grass at the base.

My Book of the sea is finished.

At long last I have finished my book of the sea, here it is: The book measures 12" high x 9 1/2" wide and is 3" thick. Warning this is a picture heavy post.

Every Inchie Monday -- Bulldozer

Goodness these words are getting more difficult by the week. This time a bulldozer, not too bad trying to draw one, but sewing one was not easy. Luckily I had some metal bits that made reasonable wheels and a scoop for the front. The yellow felt is far too fluffy, and looks like a car a minion would ride in. Not in proportion, but made in a hurry, and as good as I could make it at midnight.
